Step-by-step process
- 1
Translate your licence
Get a sworn translation into French, German or English if the licence is not already in one of them.

Get RTO verification
Ask your Indian RTO or the Embassy of India for confirmation that your licence is genuine and valid.

Pass the medical exam
A licensed doctor completes the official medical form for driving fitness.

Submit to the SNCA
File the full dossier with the National Society of Automotive Traffic and pay the exchange fee.
Important tips
- •Do this within the first year — after that an exchange may no longer be possible.
- •Your Indian licence is surrendered when the Luxembourg one is issued.
