Step-by-step process

Apply from India first
Submit your temporary authorisation to stay application to the Immigration Directorate before travelling.

Complete the medical check
Within 3 months of arrival, do the TB screening and medical exam with an approved doctor.

File the permit request
Send the residence-permit application with the medical certificate and the €80 fee receipt.
- 4
Collect your card
You will be invited to give biometrics, then collect your card at the Immigration Directorate.
Important tips
- •The first permit is usually valid for one year and is renewable.
- •Apply for renewal at least 2 months before expiry.
