Step-by-step process

Land and settle in
Confirm temporary or permanent accommodation, get a Luxembourg mobile number and note your commune's opening hours.

Declare your arrival
Visit your commune within 3 days of arrival with your passport, visa and proof of address to register your residence.

Open a bank account
Most banks need your declaration of arrival, passport and employment contract. Salary payments require an IBAN.

Register for social security
Your employer usually files the CNS declaration. Keep an eye out for your social security number by post.
